Pap Smears
A pap smear is performed to look for abnormalities in the cells of the cervix. This will be performed during a routine well woman exam when indicated. Cervical cancer is caused by a very prevalent sexually transmitted disease, the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), but with routine screening can be detected and treated early.
